Oh my goodness, "A Song of Descent" completely blew me away! I went in expecting a typical fantasy romance, maybe something akin to ACOTAR, but what I got was so much more. This is a full-blown epic fantasy adventure, the kind that grabs you by the throat and doesn't let go until the very last page. The world-building is phenomenal; R.A. Ferguson has crafted a richly detailed world brimming with political intrigue, dangerous magic, and a palpable sense of impending doom. The descriptions are vivid and evocative, painting such a clear picture in my mind that I felt like I was right there alongside Celestine, braving the desolate landscapes and dodging the relentless Hunters.
The characters are equally compelling. Celestine, our reluctant heroine, is strong, resourceful, and utterly believable. Her journey of self-discovery is both thrilling and emotionally resonant. I found myself completely invested in her struggles, cheering her on every step of the way. And the supporting characters? Don't even get me started!
